About
Honest Current Affairs is for readers who want to meet public stories with curiosity rather than hurry. We look at how claims are made, where information comes from, what context changes and how to read when answers are still taking shape.
What we cover
Our subject is the craft of reading current affairs: tracing claims to sources, noticing framing, finding useful background and recognising uncertainty. We focus on habits that remain useful across subjects, rather than offering a running feed of headlines.
Who it is for
This publication is for anyone who wants a steadier way to approach public information, whether a story arrives in print, on a screen or through a conversation. No specialist vocabulary is required; we explain terms when they help and keep the reader's questions in view.
How we approach it
We slow the reading down. A claim, its evidence and the source behind it are not the same thing, and a missing detail does not automatically prove a story false. We aim to distinguish what is known, what is asserted and what remains unclear, without turning uncertainty into certainty for the sake of a neat ending.
A story deserves a second, slower look
A headline can open a door, but it cannot show the whole room. We make space for source trails, context and honest uncertainty.
