Editorial policy
Honest Current Affairs aims to make the reading of public stories clearer without pretending that every question has a settled answer. Our editorial choices are guided by accuracy, independence and plain explanation.
Accuracy and sourcing
We check factual statements against material suitable to the claim and make the basis for important assertions clear in our published work. We distinguish direct evidence from interpretation, avoid presenting a single account as the whole picture and describe uncertainty where it matters. We do not claim to have verified material we have not checked.
Independence and interests
Editorial decisions are made for the publication's readers, not as a promise of favourable treatment to a contributor or partner. If a relationship could reasonably affect how material is understood, we disclose it alongside that material. Partnerships do not purchase editorial conclusions.
Corrections
If a reader spots a possible error, they can contact us through the Contact page. We review specific, substantiated concerns and correct material when warranted, making significant changes clear to readers. A correction is not a way to quietly replace an inconvenient but accurate account.
Partner material and illustrations
Any paid, commissioned or partner-supported material is clearly identified where it appears, so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when used, they are labelled as AI-generated and are not presented as documentary evidence.
A story deserves a second, slower look
A headline can open a door, but it cannot show the whole room. We make space for source trails, context and honest uncertainty.
